Digital Tiger Conversions Collection

When you first connect your Digital Tiger account to your Google Docs account - Digital Tiger creates a collection in your account called "Digital_Tiger-Conversions". Digital Tiger then goes through all your Google docs files and identifies the files with non-searchable content through the Google API (Meaning they are not Google Docs format files or Digital/OCR'd PDF's). The files with non-searchable content are added to this collection.

This collection will not affect the structure of your Google Docs. One file can be in multiple collections. By being able to view all of your non-converted files in one Collection - it makes it easier if you decide to convert some of your files into Google File formats or digital PDF's.

There are three main reasons you may want to convert your documents to Google file formats or digitized PDF's:

  • Files in Google Docs format do not count towards your storage quota. This means you can have an unlimited number of files in your Google Docs Account.
  • Google Docs file types can be edited online using Google Docs. (This is not possible with Microsoft files that have not been converted.)
  • Digitized/OCR'd PDF's are searchable.
  • Digitized PDF's can be converted into Google Docs documents and be edited. Allowing you to edit read only PDF's and re-save them.
