I) Update Paper Tiger server software/SQL Server 2005 Instance: 
----------------------------------------------------------- 
1. Be sure to log on as the Windows Administrator (recommended) or with an account that has administrative rights (the Paper Tiger software must be installed by an Administrator) 
2. Very Important! - Disable any anti-virus software along with any other running programs that may interfere with the installation process 
3. Download and Save the Network Edition Server installer from our Products Download page: 
 

1. Be sure to log on as the Windows Administrator (recommended) or with an account that has administrative rights (the Paper Tiger software must be installed by an Administrator) 

2. Very Important! - Disable any anti-virus software along with any other running programs that may interfere with the installation process 

3. Download and Save the latest installer (4.1.29) by going to the Products Download page:  

http://www.thepapertiger.com/DownloadManager.php?edition=Network

4. Once the download is complete, run the EXE to begin the setup process.  (Click Here For Windows 8 Instructions)

Note, when installing on Windows 7 or 8, you may see a couple of extra screens:

a. When attempting to install Paper Tiger you may see a screen that ask you to Run Anyway or Don't Run. Just click the "more info" link and select "Run Anyway"
b. During installation you may see three screens for Program Compatibility Assistant. Just click "Run the program without getting help".

Note: Installing Paper Tiger on Windows 10, you may receive a screen "An app on your PC needs the following Windows feature: .NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0)", you should choose the option "Install this feature"


5. Progress will setup normally. 

6. Restart the system if prompted.

 

II) Share your Database Backup folder: 
--------------------------------------------- 
1. Click on Start, and then Run. 
2. Type in "C:\" and click on “Ok”. 
3. There you can find one folder with the name “PaperTiger PTNETWORK41 DBBackups”. 
4. Right click on that folder and click on “Properties”. 
5. Select the “Sharing” tab in the properties window. 
6. Click on “Share this folder on the network. The share name defaults to the folder name. 
7. Then click on “Allow network users to change my files”. (Allow all the client users).

Note: The screen will vary depending on what version of Windows you are running.

III) Update Paper Tiger client software: 
----------------------------------------------------------- 
1. If using Windows 2000 or XP, be sure to log on as the Windows Administrator (recommended) or with an account that has administrative rights (the Paper Tiger software must be installed by an Administrator) 

2. Disable any anti-viral software along with any other running programs that may interfere with the installation process 

3. Download and Save the latest Network Edition Client installer from our Products Download page: 

http://www.thepapertiger.com/DownloadManager.php?edition=Network

4. Once the download is complete, run the EXE to begin the setup process. 

Note, when installing on Windows 7 or 8, you may see a couple of extra screens:

a. When attempting to install Paper Tiger you may see a screen that ask you to Run Anyway or Don't Run. Just click the "more info" link and select "Run Anyway"
b. During installation you may see three screens for Program Compatibility Assistant. Just click "Run the program without getting help".
5. Progress with setup normally.
6. Turn your anti-virus software back on after Paper Tiger has completed installation.

You will need your version 4 serial number and a network license number coinciding with the number of user licenses you have purchased.

The first time you open Paper Tiger from the client user's PC, you will be able to create a database or open an existing database (version 4 .bak database file by using the Database Backup Manager or for version 3 .ptd database file, use the Convert selection under File at the top menu) You will need to configure client user computers. Log into Paper Tiger under Administrator log in, ensure client user IDs and passwords are set up for each client user under the View menu.
