Know when your files need a bit of maintenance…Paper Tiger has Action Dates! A little maintenance goes a long way. Clean out files on a set schedule (use retention guidelines), move files to archives, stop continually buying more cabinets.
When you create a new Item, set an Action Date to review the Item or take action on the Item. Paper Tiger will remind you within the Reminders Horizon you have set in your Database Preferences. There are two ways to receive reminders on an item:
- Review Frequency: This is the interval that you set when adding a new Location or editing an existing Location, to let Paper Tiger know how often you would like a reminder to review Items in the specific Location. (1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months or you can select a specific date) This frequency can be changed by clicking the Locations button to view the list of Locations. Then click the Edit button to the left of the Location name or click the checkbox beside the Location in which you want to change, and click the Edit button in the upper right corner.
- Action Dates: Action Date is the future date in which you want to review an item, or if this item will require your action. When you want a reminder to review the item, then you can specify the future date in the Action Date box when adding or editing an Item. Paper Tiger will remind you on that date when you open the Paper Tiger application when adding or editing an Item.
You can choose the DATABASE HORIZON that will determine the time frame in which Paper Tiger will look to give you a reminder for that particular Database.
