Error Message: 'Can't Connect to Server' or 'This Page Cannot be Displayed'

Either of these errors are usually caused because the Internet browser being used has not been updated to the latest build/version. Internet browsers set at an old SSL connection or a TLS protocol version 1.0 will need to be updated to TLS version 1.1 or version 1.2 in order to log into your application for secure authentication.

Why is updating necessary? This is an upgrade requirement of Transport Layer Socket (TLS formerly known as SSL) from version 1.0 for any industry or company that takes credit cards for purchasing their product to ensure your data is safeguarded and encrypted when processing. The Payment Card Industry (PCI) Council has mandated that early versions of TLS be retired from service. All organizations that handle credit card information are required to comply with this standard. As part of this obligation, we have updated our Paper Tiger Online software to require TLS 1.2 for all HTTPS connections, and TLS 1.1 for all HTTP connections.

What are SSL and TLS protocol connections? In the authentication process when going to a website, a TLS/SSL client sends a message to a TLS/SSL server, and the server responds with the information that the server needs to authenticate itself. The client and server perform an additional exchange of session keys, and the authentication dialog ends. When authentication is completed, TLS-secured communication can begin between the server and the client using the symmetric encryption keys that are established during the authentication process.
